The instrumental CD “Electric Storm” by Sean Mercer was mastered by Grammy winning mastering engineer Gavin Lurssen at The Mastering Lab during August \ September 2002.

The “Electric Storm” CD has been professionally manufactured using, real-time (1x), direct-to-glass mastering (also known as “single speed glass cutting”) – this is not a cheap CD-R.

This guy can really play. The more I listen to this CD, the more I enjoy it. If you like Greg Howe, Vinnie Moore, Malmsteen, etc, you will probably like this recording! There are some really slick tapping riffs and some really cool melodic passages on this CD.

This guy can play. He is capable of some really fast stuff, but doesn’t seem compelled to do it over every song like many instrumental guitar players. I found this refreshing. There is some really awesome melodic work in this CD. He does some interesting acoustic work, and has some really cool chord work here. If you are into Malmsteen, Stump, Jason Becker, Greg Howe, Tony MacAlpine etc….then you will probably enjoy this CD. This CD has not left my CD player in three days of listening. My only beef is with Sean’s image on the CD – he has *got* to ditch those corny sunglass.

This cd is good, although a little light on the heaviness(I prefer more hard edged) but it is still very good. Sean is a very competent player who uses great melodic lines and some killer lead work. He doesn`t overdo the sweeps and plays very cleanly and quick. I hear a strong MacAlpine influences and early Vinny Moore. I just wish Sean would let loose alittle bit, he can obviously play well, but I feel he holds back alittle, it would be nice to hear him go all out with a little more solos. Some of my faves are.. Shades of Blue, Ilana, Eletric Storm and Mushrooms Of Fire. I enjoy this cd and I would recommend it!
